Last night the girls were upstairs with me right before bed. Gemma was being a little crazy, and Edie was trying to talk to her.
Edie: "Hey, settle down, dude."
Me: "Did you just call Gemma 'dude'?"
Edie: "Yes, I called her a dude. Why?"
Me: "It's just kind of a funny word to use with her."
Edie: "Mr. Lacatell [her teacher] says 'dude' a lot at school. What's wrong with it?"
Me: "Nothing is wrong with it. I guess he is just young and hip, and I don't use words like that because I am old."
Edie: "Mom, you are not old. You're just classic."
